Hello there,

   My name is Chrissy Morgan. I grew up in New Jersey surrounded by music and was voted "Most Musical" in highschool. I moved to Detroit and went to the school of hard rocks ( busking, National Anthem singer for the Detroit Derby Girls, independent film, improv, burlesque, singing waitress, local theatre, etc.).  Eventually I became Detroit's unofficial backing vocalist recording, performing, and touring for more than 20 different national and local artists. I've recently moved to a Kentucky farm, but continue to write and record. My first solo album, Simple Love Songs, features all Detroit musicians including my writing partner, Susie Woodman (keys). We were inspired by the leading female vocalists topping the charts during the late 70's and 80's. The songs themselves touch upon the jazz, pop, gospel, and country genres and tell the stories of love in friendship, career, life, the past, and marriage. The album was recently nominated for a Detroit Music Award and was featured on the award winning podcast, "Women of Substance Radio Podcast". When not writing or recording, I teach vocal lessons through zoom to students of all ages with a song in their heart.
